Brief Summary:

This policy provides guidance on how to comply with HIPAA’s ‘right of access’ provisions.

Individuals have the right to access their own PHI. If a situation warrants it, it is incumbent on the Covered Entity to facilitate electronic viewing on a terminal of their own (If, let’s say, a patient does not own a computer), should a patient request to view their own PHI and you can only provide it digitally.
