Abyde Alternatives: What Abyde Costs and How Other HIPAA Software Compares

Abyde alternatives with published prices: what Abyde's own calculator shows per product, next to Accountable HQ, Live Compliance, Medcurity and TotalHIPAA.

Abyde sells HIPAA and OSHA compliance software to dental and medical practices. Its own pricing calculator shows $161 a month per product on a 12-month term for one location with 1 to 10 employees, and 10% less when paid upfront (abyde.com/pricing, checked September 29, 2026). Among Abyde alternatives with published prices, Accountable HQ starts at $169 a month billed annually, TotalHIPAA starts at $199 a month with a $999 onboarding fee, and One Guy Consulting charges a flat price with no per-user fees: Self-Guided at $675 for 12 months, or Full-Scope at $1,300 for 12 months.

A practice pricing Abyde, or facing a renewal, has two questions: what it will cost at this headcount, and how much work lands on the office manager. This page answers both from each vendor's own pages. It ranks no one.

Abyde Alternatives Compared, With Published Prices

Every vendor price below is from that company's own website, fetched September 29, 2026, with each URL in the source list.

What Abyde Is and What It Costs

Abyde describes its offer as "software-intelligent, automated HIPAA and OSHA compliance solutions." It sells three subscription products, each priced on its own: HIPAA for Covered Entities, OSHA for Healthcare and HIPAA for Business Associates. A fourth option, SRA for Covered Entities, is the security risk analysis by itself.

Abyde does not print a price list. Its calculator asks for locations and employees, then prices each product by employee band on a "12 month term - billed monthly." For one location, the Abyde price per product rises with each band, from $161 a month for 1 to 10 employees to $287 a month for 31 to 50 employees.

The same page says "Get 10% off when you pay upfront!" In the Abyde calculator, a second location adds $108 a month to each product's price, and above 2 locations or 50 employees it shows "Contact us!" instead of a number. Abyde prices its SRA for Covered Entities by the year: $1,300 a year for one location.

A practice buying HIPAA and OSHA pays the band rate for each product.

What Abyde Includes

Abyde's HIPAA for Covered Entities page lists:

  • A Security Risk Analysis (SRA) module.
  • Required policies that Abyde says are "customized specifically for you."
  • A Business Associate Portal for business associate agreements, with a reminder before an agreement expires.
  • Employee training modules with automated due-date notifications.
  • An "Abyde Certified Badge" once every required module is complete.

Its Incident Response Program page says the program is "Included in your Abyde subscription," and its homepage says "Abyde customers enjoy unlimited access to compliance experts at no extra cost." The homepage also states: "With a 100% Audit Pass Rate, we've never had a customer fail an audit or give a penny back to regulators." That is Abyde's own claim, quoted as written.

OSHA for Healthcare, the separate product, covers a Facility Risk Assessment, safety and health logs, and training "from PPE to Bloodborne Pathogens." Abyde's homepage says its solution "was designed for all healthcare practices," naming dentistry, optometry, chiropractic, dermatology and psychology among them.

Abyde vs One Guy Consulting

Abyde prices each product separately and scales it by employee band and location. One Guy Consulting has two plans and six ways to pay, with no per-user fees: a 5-person office pays the same as a 25-person office on the same plan. For one location with 1 to 10 employees, the Abyde calculator shows $161 a month for HIPAA for Covered Entities; One Guy Consulting's Full-Scope plan is $120 a month and its Self-Guided plan is $60 a month.

Chuck Weiselberg, C.H.P. (Certified HIPAA Professional), has been consulting since 2015. On those calls he walks the practice through the software and a process for becoming compliant. He does not interpret the law; those questions go to a healthcare attorney. All delivery is remote, and setup typically takes weeks, not months.

Badges and the Word Certified

Abyde awards an "Abyde Certified Badge" when a practice finishes the required modules. Accountable HQ's Basic plan lists a "Trust Center & HIPAA Badge," and Live Compliance lists a "Seal of Compliance." Each is issued by the vendor.

HHS states in its FAQ: "HHS does not endorse or otherwise recognize private organizations' 'certifications' regarding the Security Rule." Abyde's own FAQ says "there isn't a specific HIPAA/OSHA certification."

What Any Option Must Cover

The vendor changes. The regulation does not. Three of the Security Rule's requirements apply to the practice whatever product it picks:

  • A risk analysis. 45 CFR 164.308(a)(1)(ii)(A): "Conduct an accurate and thorough assessment of the potential risks and vulnerabilities to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of electronic protected health information held by the covered entity or business associate."
  • Business associate assurances. 45 CFR 164.308(b)(1): "A covered entity may permit a business associate to create, receive, maintain, or transmit electronic protected health information on the covered entity's behalf only if the covered entity obtains satisfactory assurances, in accordance with § 164.314(a), that the business associate will appropriately safeguard the information." 164.308(b)(3) says those assurances are documented "through a written contract or other arrangement with the business associate": the business associate agreement.
  • Workforce training. 45 CFR 164.308(a)(5)(i): "Implement a security awareness and training program for all members of its workforce (including management)."

On March 5, 2026, HHS announced that its Office for Civil Rights settled with MMG Fusion, LLC, a software company and business associate that OCR found had potentially failed to conduct an accurate and thorough risk analysis. It paid $10,000; OCR considered its financial condition. It was OCR's 12th Risk Analysis Initiative action.

OSHA is a separate body of law, covered in HIPAA vs OSHA for medical and dental offices. Dental offices can start with the HIPAA guide for dental practices or the dental practice page.

FAQ

How much does Abyde cost?

Abyde's own calculator (checked September 29, 2026) shows $161 a month per product for one location with 1 to 10 employees on a 12-month term, rising by band to $287 a month for 31 to 50 employees. Each product is priced separately; paying upfront takes 10% off.

Is Abyde only for dental offices?

No. Abyde's homepage says its solution "was designed for all healthcare practices," naming dentistry, optometry, ophthalmology, chiropractic, dermatology, psychology and psychiatry among them.

Does Abyde include OSHA training?

OSHA for Healthcare is a separate Abyde product, priced at the same calculator rate as the HIPAA product. Abyde's OSHA page says its training covers topics "from PPE to Bloodborne Pathogens."

What are the alternatives to Abyde?

Vendors that publish prices include Accountable HQ, Live Compliance, Medcurity, TotalHIPAA and One Guy Consulting; Compliancy Group gives prices on request. One Guy Consulting's Self-Guided plan is $675 for 12 months and its Full-Scope plan is $1,300 for 12 months, with no per-user fees.

Does an Abyde badge mean a practice is certified under HIPAA?

No. HHS states that it "does not endorse or otherwise recognize private organizations' 'certifications' regarding the Security Rule," and Abyde's own FAQ says "there isn't a specific HIPAA/OSHA certification." The badge shows a practice finished Abyde's required modules.

Conclusion

Abyde prices each product by employee band and location, and its calculator shows the figure once those are entered. Five of the alternatives above publish their own figures, dated and linked, so the comparison can be rerun at renewal. Whatever the vendor, the risk analysis, business associate assurances and workforce training in 45 CFR 164.308 stay the practice's own obligations, and they are only part of what the Security Rule requires.

Want help putting this in place? The Full-Scope plan from One Guy Consulting pairs the compliance software with 4 hours a month of 1:1 implementation calls with Chuck Weiselberg, C.H.P., to get your plan set up. It is $120 a month, $1,300 for 12 months paid upfront, or $2,300 for 24 months, with no per-user fees. See how it works or book a free HIPAA compliance review. No obligation, no pressure.
